Jaipur: This year 134 students belonging to the economically weaker sections, studying in Rajasthan University, have been selected for the Prof RK Kothari Scholarship Scheme.
A scholarship will be provided to these 134 students on Saturday by the RU Administration where Rs6,000 check will be given to each student selected under the scholarship scheme.
So far, an assistance of Rs10 lakh have been provided to the economically weak students of the university under this scheme.
According to the public relations cell of the RU, after assuming the charge as RU Vice-Chancellor, Prof RK Kothari had announced that he would not take a salary as Vice-Chancellor and this salary would be provided as financial aid to the needy meritorious students studying in the university. During the year 2017-18, 40 girl and 18 boy students were provided financial assistance worth Rs3.48 lakh under this scheme and Rs4.02 was given to to 43 girls and 24 boys in the year 2018-19.
A process has been prescribed for the students receiving this scholarship, through this process, needy students are selected and Rs. 6000 per student is being given. The amount is being provided as a scholarship.
LLB admission process: Ten govt law colleges in state will be able to start admission process for LLB 1st year for academic session 2019-20. Bar Council of India has given permission for admission to LLB course for current academic session in these ten colleges. They will have to complete admission process in LLB 1st year by November 15 which will be off-line. Directorate of College Education issued instructions to start admission in law colleges at Bikaner, Churu, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Kota, Alwar, Sikar, Bharatpur, Pali and Sriganganagar.
