Bikaner: Seven people, including three women, were killed early on Tuesday morning when a jeep in which they were travelling crashed head-on into a mini-bus. The accident resulted in on-spot death of six passengers, while one other woman succumbed on her way to the hospital. Half a dozen others, who were travelling in the bus, have also sustained injuries.
“The accident occurred between Deshnok and Palna in Bikaner district when the family members were headed from Ramdevra to Deshnok on pilgrimage. Around 5 am, the jeep crashed into the oncoming minibus. The locals heard the collision and informed the police and a team reached the spot which rescued one woman who was still alive, however, she succumbed while on way to the hospital,” officials said. Of the deceased, five have been identified as Shrawan, Karan, Shrawan, Bablu, and Bindu.
In another accident, which occurred in Barmer, three men were killed when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck in Pachpadra area.
