Jaipur: After a long wait, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, once again demonstrated his humane face, cleared the central deputation of two “waiting” senior IAS officers ie Tanmay Kumar and Sanjay Malhotra, who are working as the principal secretary to former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Principal secretary Energy Department, respectively. The duo enjoy the reputation and goodwill of being a low profile, discreet, honest and competent officers. At present, Tanmay is posted at Bikaner as Commissioner, Command Area Development and Malhotra is posted as Principal Secretary, Revenue. Gehlot’s move will further clear the road for a few other IAS and IPS officers, including Siddharth Mahajan, who are keen on Central deputation as part of their career plans.
Gehlot’s this “liberal move” has bought a great goodwill and a sense of morale boosting among the senior bureaucracy, as the matter was pending for quite sometime. Some people say that it is some sort of a “new avatar” of Gehlot, where he has not initiated even a single negative move. One of the reason is that apart from Gehlot himself, his entire CMO team led by Kuldeep Ranka, a hardcore loyalist and a finance hand Niranjan Arya and a trusted Chief secretary DB Gupta are also moving on positive and constructive lines. Now, Gehlot’s main agenda for the remaining four years is to bring a dramatic improvement in the implementation and “delivery” of his popular budget announcements and for all this, a high morale and enthusiastic bureaucracy will be a prerequisite.
