Says content available on internet is distorting mentality in society; asks Centre to step in to censor the content.
Jaipur: The incident of rape with a girl child in Tonk area has shaken the entire state and the nation. Energy Minister BD Kalla on Monday blamed the content available on internet for crimes like rape and demanded that it be censored.
The minister said internet content is “distorting mentality” of the people. “The government takes action wherever such incidents occur but distorted mentality is behind such crimes and internet is responsible for this. Content available on internet is distorting mentality in society,” he said here.
“There should be censorship on contents available on internet and the Central government should take steps for this,” Kalla told reporters at the PCC headquarters in Jaipur while responding to questions related to rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Tonk. The minister added that wrong portrayal in cinema is also responsible for the incidents of rape. Cinema also needs to be censored properly he added.
It may be recalled that a girl was raped and murdered by a man in Tonk district on Saturday and the body was found on Sunday at an isolated area in Aligarh town of Tonk. The accused has been arrested.
NCPCR seeks action taken report from Rajasthan in 7 days
New Delhi: The apex child rights body National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought an action-taken report from state government within seven days in rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Tonk district. The girl had gone to school on Saturday and did not return till late. Police said her family members found the body at an isolated place in Kheldi village of Aligarh town. NCPCR chairperson Priyank Kanoongo said an action-taken report has been sought from the state government within seven days.
RSCPCR demands action against school admin
Tonk: After the unfortunate incident of rape and murder of a 6-year-old innocent in Tonk’s Aligarh, Chairperson of the Rajasthan Child Rights Protection Commission Sangeeta Beniwal reached Tonk on Monday. Beniwal met District Collector and SP to inquired about the entire incident and went to the victim’s home to pay condolences to her family and share their pain. During her visit, Beniwal raised questions on school administration and demanded action against them. She demanded that accused be sentenced to death along with seeking complete ban on porn movies.
Strict action will be taken against this abusive act: Pilot
Jaipur: Deputy Chief Minister and PCC chief, Sachin Pilot, while reacting sharply to the incidents of rape with a girl in Hyderabad in Telangana and with a girl child in Tonk, said on Monday that these incidents are both frightening and unacceptable.
“We have instructed the police administration to investigate this matter seriously. Strict action will be taken against this abusive act and the culprit will not be spared,” said the deputy chief minister.
Poonia to Gehlot: Appoint a full-time Home Minister
Jaipur: BJP State President Satish Poonia has demanded resignation of CM Ashok Gehlot over the law and order situation while expressing concern over Tonk rape case.
He said that CM has completely failed as Home Minister and so should quit the post on moral grounds. He should appoint a full-time Home Minister in the interest of the state, Poonia added.
He demanded that the culprits should be arrested and punished immediately and compensation of Rs 20 lakh be given to girl’s family. Poonia also demanded to take appropriate action at the government level to prevent such incidents. The criminals are openly committing serious incidents in state and police are unable to do anything, he said.
