Jaipur: Energy Minister Dr BD Kalla reached Jaipur, on Sunday, after attending a two-day conference of power ministers from all over the country held in Gujarat. Kalla was on a three-day tour of Gujarat.
While sharing his experience of the conference, Kalla said that the focus of the Central government is on enhancing renewable energy. There is huge scope of solar energy in Rajasthan and Kalla proposed to Union MoS RK Singh to focus on investment in the state.
Along with this, Kalla also informed that he has also requested the Centre to allocate maximum targets to Rajasthan under the Kusum Scheme. Regarding other requirements including smart metre projects, the Central government has been requested to pay special attention to Rajasthan.
Kalla said that he has given special attention to the requirement of installing smart metres in state and also discussed the need for capital investment of Rs3763 crore for the same. He involved MoS Singh in discussion and said that if 60% Central grant of the amount is provided, the work will be completed in state soon. Kalla also pointed towards need for segregation of agriculture feeder and requested the Centre to provide maximum support.
