For velo-city in Jaipur: Dhariwal in talks on parking, road snarls

Jaipur: Urban Development and Housing (UDH) Minister Shanti Dhariwal took a meeting to discuss the problems related to parking and traffic jam in Jaipur on Wednesday. The new parking system implemented at Jaipur Airport was also discussed during the meeting.

Top officials of the Urban Development Department, Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), Jaipur Municipal Corporation and district administration attended the meeting.

Minister Shanti Dhariwal informed the media after the meeting that the new parking system implemented at the Jaipur airport will be replaced with the old system. Also, decisions will be taken soon in the JDA Traffic Control Board to reduce traffic jams in the city, including the Walled City area.

Dhariwal added that the possibility of building an elevated road from Narayan Singh Circle to Mental Hospital on Govind Marg would be looked upon and a detailed transport report will be made for the same.

The trial run of Jaipur Metro on the underground corridor from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar will also begin in the upcoming week. This decision was taken in the meeting of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation held on Wednesday. Chairman of JMRC Bhaskar A Sawant said that all the preparations for the trial run have been completed.
