Eunuch attacked, robbed by rivals

Ahmedabad: In a turf war between two gangs of eunuchs, a 27-year-old from Vastral filed a complaint at Ellisbridge police station against six persons. In the complaint, the victim Sejal Pavaiya stated that she was allegedly robbed and attacked by six people namely Imran, Faizan Liyakat Kazi, Zahir, Chhota Zahir, Akram and Raju.

In the past, territory disputes between different groups of eunuchs have been common in the city. As per the complainant, the group of six eunuchs allegedly attacked another eunuch group with swords, injured them as well as robbed them of their jewellery and mobile phones.

The 27-year-old complainant lives with her sister in Ambawadi. The victim was collecting alms on Tuesday morning with her sister Kamini Pavaiya and brother Sunil when, a group of people came out from an auto-rickshaw and injured her leg, hand and chin. The complainant also claimed that they abused and threatened them, apart from stealing around Rs15,000 in cash and a gold chain. The victim’s sister said, “It is a territory issue. They (the eunuch group) have attacked us in the past too. We had even filed a complaint back then, to no avail.”

The victim was admitted to a city hospital for treatment.
