State’s MoU with central tourism for light & sound shows at key tourist places
Gandhinagar: The development of tourism in Gujarat is based on tradition, talent and trade. Driven by this principle, the State Government has developed new tourism sites like Madhavpur Ghed and similar others during the last three years.
After inaugurating the All India Council of Tourism Secretaries at Dhordo in the Great Rann of Kutch, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as the Gujarat CM developed the state’s tourism on three ‘Ts’ — tradition, talent and trade. This has been taken forward by his government.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Rupani said special provision has been made in the Budget for promoting five iconic archaeological sites in India, including Dholavira and Lothal in Gujarat.
He said the world’s tallest statue, Statue of Unity in the memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was built with the initiative of the Prime Minister with a view to link religion, culture and history with national unity for tourism. Tourists visiting the site of the statue are spellbound by the Unity Wall and Bharat Bhavan, Rupani said.
Union Minister of State for Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel said the Rann of Kutch is like a heaven on earth, which has become a tourist centre made better by several cultural activities, thanks to the far-sightedness of Prime Minister Modi.
Gujarat’s Tourism Minister Jawahar Chavda said that Gujarat has a long coastline, wild ass sanctuary in the Rann of Kutch, many temples and archaeological sites.
A MoU was signed between ITDC and Gujarat Tourism Department by ITDC MD Kamla Vardhan Rao and TCGL MD Jainu Devan in presence of the Chief Minister for consultancy services to develop innovative and decorative light and sound show on Gujarat’s major tourist places.
Building CM’s image through social media
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has launched a campaign on social media to build his image, where he has been postured as a decisive leader giving transparent governance. It also states that Gujarat is lucky to have Vijay Rupani as the Chief Minister and even his opponents concede that he is decisive. The message on social media claims that even his arch rivals have started recognising his capabilities. He is a very low profile, committed and result-oriented leader, it says. Every day he is taking one major decision for the benefit of Gujaratis.
