List will be valid until all vacant positions are filled.
Ahmedabad: In another decision aimed at bolstering opportunities for government employment, the state government led by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will prepare a waiting list for the Lokrakshak Dal recruitment too.
Announcing the decision, Minister of State of Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja told the media that the move aims to abide by the High Court’s judgement in the Police Inspectors’ recruitment case.
In that case, the court had ordered the state to prepare a waiting list from among successful candidates who were left out once vacant posts were filled.
Jadeja explained that some candidates do not take up positions to which they were appointed for a variety of reasons. For example, he said, some may have got a better job, some may be appearing for exams for higher posts, and so on.
Hence, even after the recruitment process is concluded, many posts remain vacant. These can be filled from the waiting list, minister said.
