Jaipur: Hundreds of people expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on the state government’s decision to remove the provisions of EWS reservation on Saturday.
Addressing the huge gathering, CM Gehlot said that the state government’s decision has strengthened the social structure and harmony in the state.
“Our government has reiterated our commitment to the welfare of the economically weaker section through the removal of EWS reservation provisions.
Rajasthan is the only state in the nation that has taken this step and now the central government should also follow our lead. I have written to PM Narendra Modi over this,” Gehlot said.
“I had started the free medicine scheme during the last tenure and people from weaker sections are getting the benefit of the scheme. It is important for the government schemes to reach people and the youth should come ahead for the same,” he further added.
People had come under the leadership of MLAs Deepchand Kheriya, Joginder Singh Avana and Wajib Ali while a delegation of retired jawans also met the CM and thanked him for removing provisions from the EWS Reservation.
On the removal of the provision of immovable property in the EWS reservation in Rajasthan government services and educational institutions, many people reached CM’s residence to express gratitude to CM Gehlot.
