Alia reveals her baby kicked her throughout her acceptance speech for Time100 Impact Awards
Mumbai (Maharashtra): It wasn’t a lie when the year 2022 was stated as Alia Bhatt’s year. The actor is currently at the peak of her success and she does not seem to slow down. Be it professional or personal life, no one is acing it like Alia. After getting married to the love of her life and getting pregnant with his child, Alia is also delivering some of her most amazing performances. The actor has now achieved another feat where she has been bestowed with the Time100 Impact Awards. Alia graced the National Gallery Singapore to collect her honour. Shining in a beautiful metallic gown, the Highway star could be seen cradling her baby bump while she delivered a powerful speech.
While making the audience laugh and at the same time, move them with her impactful words, Alia spoke about accepting her flaws and revealed that she started her career to make an impact. She said, “I feel a tiny bit of pressure, pressure to say something intelligent and be good and really make an impact. I have been thinking a lot about what it means to make an impact and I’ve been wondering whether, when I started out, I did so with the intention of making an impact. And the answer is, yes.”
Further thanking her family, parents Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, sister Shaheen Bhatt and husband Ranbir Kapoor for “putting up with her”, Alia stated, “I want to take a moment with you all to celebrate my flaws along with my strengths. For example, I’m terrible at spelling. Like, really bad. But I do know what to say to someone who’s vulnerable. I have no sense of geography. Zero. I do not get directions. But I have a deep sense of respect and regard for different cultures. My general knowledge is widely known to be weak. But my emotional intelligence is something that I’ve worked really hard to cultivate. I have a tendency to be hard on myself with regards to my weight and my appearance. But I never say no to a french fry because, you know, YOLO.”
In concluding her speech, Alia mentioned “her little one” who was kicking her throughout her speech. She said, “When it comes to making an impact, I hope I can continue to do so in whatever way possible. But for now, tonight, this award has genuinely made an impact on me—me and my little one, who has relentlessly kicked me throughout this speech. Thank you so much.”
Alia Bhatt has an array of projects lined up ahead of her including Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Katrina Kaif and her Hollywood debut, Heart of Stone.
