Audiences Are Equally Responsible For Nepotism : Karan Johar

Whenever the debate of Nepotism in Bollywood is going it is very unlikely that Karan Johar is not present there. In Kangana Ranaut’s words, Karan is the “Flagbearer of nepotism’ and the filmmaker is now openly admitting to the fact. 

The latest episode of Koffee With Karan Season 7 was, without a doubt, a bland affair. Expectations were high after the teaser showed Aamir Khan roasting Karan Johar. Kareena Kapoor also has a history of being unabashedly honest on the show, having made some explosive statements in the past. 

Karan gave an opening monologue where he claimed that the audience was responsible for making star kids famous.

He said that he was indeed the ‘big daddy of all star kids in Bollywood’ but it was the audience that makes them famous and that makes his job easier.

Karan cited the example of Taimur Ali Khan and said that he had become a superstar at the age of 6 and it because the audience or fans are crazy behind him. He said, “ I have made peace with myself and happily embraced the title of ‘big daddy of all star kids in Bollywood’, but I share this title with the audience. Accept my congratulations on launching the youngest superstar in town, Taimur Ali Khan. It is your (audience) maniac interest in him that has made him the nation's obsession.”
