Rajkummar Rao on a winning spree, back to back awards

This is the moment Rajkummar Rao has been waiting for: big starring roles, numerous awards and a household name. After having earned the name of a 'shapeshifter of Bollywood' and 'thinking actor' with Shahid, Aligarh, Newton and Omerta, Rao made some brave choices with Badhaai Do, Monica O My Darling and Bheed and undoubtedly, he is the most popular actor today.

Earlier this year since the awards season started, he has been a clear favourite, picking top honours at most prestigious awards galas. Rao has been conferred upon Pathbreaking Performer Of The Year, Best Actor (Jury), Best Actor (Popular), Most Stylish Youth Icon, Versatile Talent Of The Year, GQ Most Influential Young Indian Award, and Best Actor In A Leading Role, Outstanding male to name a few.

Rao is also a sought after name in the film festival circuit; he attended the Closing gala of UK Asian Film Festival, which was held recently from May 4 to May 14 and won the Trailblazer Actor of the year award at the festival. 

Coming up, Rao has multiple films in post production stages, Stree 2 with Shraddha Kapoor, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor, Guns and Gulaab with Raj and DK and SRI, the biopic of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla.
