Movie Review: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 fills in Bollywood’s family entertainer void with a blast!

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu released in theatres on May 20 and it has managed to create a lot of buzz within a few hours. The movie promotions had received a positive response from the audience due to the immense fan following of Kartik, Kiara and Tabu. However, in the sea of massive pan-India films that have been coming from the South film industries, the question remained of whether Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will be able to make its mark.

But it seems that the film has the capability to stand on its own and hold its ground. So, probably this film will come as a welcoming rain on the dry spell of back-to-back flop Bollywood films. The film begins with the meeting of Reet (Kiara Advani) and Ruhaan (Kartik Aaryan) who fall in love. As the film progresses, Reet has to come back to her ancestral haveli in Rajasthan for some reason. As she heads back to India with Ruhaan, a future filled with ghosts and black magic waits ahead for them. The story unfolds to reveal many twists and turns and a ghost of Manjulika who has been waiting in the haveli for 18 years, but is she really a ghost or not? To know more about the story, watch the film in the theatres.

Talking about the acting of the cast, Kartik and Tabu have carried the entire film on their backs. Kartik can be seen playing effortlessly on his turf. Tabu portrays her characters so well that her talent can be seen oozing out. The many twists to their characters make the film worth the watch. Although Kiara has done a good job, there is nothing special for her character to explore. Meanwhile, the supporting cast of Sanjay Mishra, Rajpal Yadav, Milind Gunaji, Amar Upadhyay and more have done a commendable job in making the film a treat.

But what makes the movie such a great entertainer is the story and screenplay. Aakash Kaushik and Farhad Samji have written the movie excellently that it blends the two elements of comedy and horror without any effort. If you get scared by a horror scene or a scare jump, there immediately is a comedy scene the very next turn. But that does not seem abrupt or sudden but rather perfectly in its place. Anees Bazmee being the genius that he is has directed the movie so well. He has taken good care of the entire cast. He has handled the fine bridge between horror and comedy really well and taken the film a notch higher.

Overall, the entire team of the film have done well and made a great family entertainer. So, it can be safely assumed that the film might give a big competition to the South Indian films that have been making a lot of buzz in the film industry. The film provides a light-hearted indulgence in the swarm of action thrillers.
