WHAT! In his farmhouse, Naseeruddin Shah uses Filmfare Awards as bathroom door handles.

Naseeruddin Shah, a seasoned actor, doesn't require an introduction because of his incredible body of work. The actor is known for sharing his ideas in addition to his acting skills, and we can attest that Shah never holds back while doing so. at a recent interview, the elder discussed the well-known cinema awards and said that at his farmhouse, Filmfare Awards serve as door knobs for the bathrooms. It's true what you just read! Naseeruddin criticised the competitive prizes, claiming that he no longer sees any value in them since he thinks they were given out as a consequence of lobbying.

Wednesday actor remarked, "Any actor who has put their life and effort into portraying a role is a good actor," in an interview with the Lallantop. If you just pick one person from the lot and say that ‘this is the best actor of the year’, how’s it fair? I am not proud of those awards. I did not even go collect the last two awards I received. So, when I built a farmhouse, I decided to put these awards there. Whoever goes to the washroom will get two awards each as the handles are made of the Filmfare awards.”

Shah added, “I don’t find any value in these trophies. I was happy when I received the initial ones. But then, trophies started piling up around me. Sooner or later, I understood that these awards are a result of lobbying. One is receiving these awards not necessarily because of their merit. So I started leaving them behind. After that, when I received Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, it reminded me of my deceased father who used to always be worried about my job and said things like ‘if you do this useless work, you will become a fool’. So, when I went to Rashtrapati Bhavan to collect the awards, I looked up and asked my dad if he was seeing all this… He was… and I am sure he was happy… I was happy to receive those awards. But I can’t stand these competitive awards.”

The 72-year-old actor has received various honours over his career, including the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival, three National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards, and more. He was also given the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan honours by the Indian government for his services to Indian film.

In Aasmaan Bhardwaj's Kuttey, which also starred Tabu, Arjun Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Konkona Sen Sharma, and others, Naseeruddin was last seen. His next appearance will be in the second season of his hit television series Taj: Divided by Blood, in which he plays Emperor Akbar.
