15 STATES, OVER 106 HELD

New Delhi: In simultaneous raids across the length and breadth of country, a multi-agency operation spearheaded by the NIA on Thursday led to the arrest of 106 activists of PFI in 15 states and 93 locations for allegedly supporting terror activities in country, officials said. The maximum number of arrests were made in Kerala followed by Maharashtra and Karnataka, TN, Assam, UP, AP, MP, Puducherry, Delhi & Rajasthan. Arrests were made during raids which have been termed as the “largestever investigation process till date”. Raids are being carried out against those involved in terror funding, organising training camps and radicalising others to join extremist groups. Formed in 2006, PFI claims to strive for a neo-social movement ostensibly for empowerment of marginalised sections of India.
