Akshay Kumar reveals his plans for politics

London (UK): Akshay Kumar has never shied away from supporting the causes he believes in, be it political or social. As he enjoys a nice vacation with his family in London, the actor made sure he isn’t sitting too idle. He attended an event in the city where he was asked his opinion on joining politics. The actor replied that he was happy with acting in films and producing movies on social topics.

PTI reported the actor stating, “I am very happy making films... As an actor, I do whatever possible to take up social issues. I have produced 150 films, the one nearest to my heart is ‘Raksha Bandhan’. I produce commercial films, sometimes with social issues. I produce three-four films a year.” His upcoming film, Rakshabandhan touches on the social topic of dowry in a light-hearted but emotional way.

Talking about his film at the trailer launch, Akshay said, “While doing films, I just don't speak about the problem. I also look for solutions. There is a solution in ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Padman’ and many more. Likewise, there is a solution to Dahej (Dowry) in this film (Raksha Bandhan). There is an answer to what we, and our society, should do. The film will give the solution to the problem.”

Raksha Bandhan will release in the theatres on August 11 and stars Akshay Kumar with Bhumi Pednekar, newcomers Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna and Smrithi Srikanth.
