Karan Aujla opens up on the brutal violence in Punjabi Music Industry.

Rapper - Songwriter Karan Aujla who’s currently making waves with his latest single “Take it easy” spoke to Anupama Chopra in a Film Companion Exclusive about getting married to his girlfriend, how he creates his music, and his relationship with Sidhu Moose Wala. The singer also told us about his Bollywood aspirations and his lineup of exciting projects.

Here’s what Karan has to say about getting married: “It’s hardly been a week, it’s amazing! I cannot describe the feeling because me and my wife have been together for almost 10 years now. Hum bachche the jab hum miley (we were kids when we first met).” It just feels so good to be right by each other, waking up next to each other. All the dreams are coming true, I’m just really grateful.”

Opening about his rivalry with the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, Karan Aujla said to Film Companion: “It was not necessary to do all those things, back then. All that happening to Sidhu & his family has changed my perspective of looking at life and doing everything. Honestly, nobody knows but I would like to tell you in this interview...I feel like people need to know...after 29th of May, I talked to Sidhu’s dad, I called him, and he gave me blessings. He told me to take care of myself. I just wanted to apologise that I couldn’t be there. I called him and said, I don’t know what to say to you, but honestly, I’m your second son. If you ever need anything from my side, please know that I’m here. And honestly, if they ever need me, I’ll be there. I’m not just saying it.”

Karan Aujla also feels it’s not musically interesting for him to be a part of Bollywood. Having said that, he adds, “I feel like I can change it, it sometimes sounds really bad to me. I’ve grown up listening to Bollywood songs. But when you hear them in a different sound, I’m not saying they’re bad, they end up working out but they sound weird to me. And I feel like one day, if I get a chance, I will know how to make a ‘Bollywood Punjabi song’ properly. It’ll be a song that people in the villages of Punjab will play, and it’ll still be on the streets of Bombay.”
