3 Discoms to add offices as consumers increase

Jaipur: The Power Department has started preparations for opening more offices in Discoms to divide the load of consumers. For this the proposals have been sought from field officers in all three discoms for section, sub-division and sub-office as per the number of consumers. The proposals will be sent to the Finance Department and new offices will open after approval. More than 25 new AEN offices are needed in Jaipur Discom alone.

Complaints are increasing in districts, for which Energy Dept has started an exercise to open new offices, said Bhaskar A Sawant, PS Energy. He further shared that in Jaipur city Discom, out of 32, 19 and in rural out 34, 14 AEN offices have number of electricity consumers more than 30,000 and in many places consumers has reached 60,000.
