47-year-old brain dead woman saves three lives

Barmer: A 47-year-old Kavita, who was declared brain dead after being injured, gave a new lease of life to three patients after her family members decided to donate her organs.

Kavita fell down at her home and received critical injuries on May 21. She was rushed to the SMS hospital where doctors declared her brain dead.

After being persuaded by doctors, her family members agreed to donate her heart and kidney following which the process of organ retrieval was done.

The heart will be sent to an army hospital in Delhi while the kidney will be transplanted to patients in the SMS hospital.
