7L tourists visited Jpr between Aug 13 & 15
Jaipur: Jaipur, during the three-day Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, allowed free entry to the monuments. This initiative became an instant success around seven lakh tourists visited the capital city between August 13 to 15, setting a world record. After setting an example in the country under the leadership of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot when the pandemic was at its peak, Rajasthan has again become a model state in post-Covid management across the country. The tourism sector, which is said to be the backbone of the state’s economy, had collapsed but under the leadership of CM Gehlot, the industry has revived.
A record number of tourists visited the Hawa Mahal on August 15. A total of 1 lakh 95,367 tourists from all over the country and abroad thronged the Hawa Mahal. An excited Dr Mahendra Singh Khadagawat, Director, Department of Archaeology, said that the number of tourists visiting the city monuments crossed three and a half lakhs.
