Girl stabbed to death, man attempts suicide

Jaipur: A man Surendra Meena, 25, attempted suicide by consuming poison after stabbing Shobha Chaudhary, 23, to death in Manoharpura town of Jaipur district on Saturday, police said. The accused is currently under treatment at a hospital. The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. The deceased was preparing for competitive exams. Meena used to visit the library of the Eklavya Academy where Chaudhary studied and he stabbed her on the roof of the coaching institute.

Surendra Meena, 25, who stabbed Shobha Chaudhary, 23, to death in Manoharpura town of Jaipur on Saturday, escaped from the crime scene and later consumed poison and he is undergoing treatment, said the police on Saturday. She was rushed to the NIMS Hospital where she was declared dead.

According to the police, information about an attack on the student was received at the Eklavya Academy at around 10.30 am on Saturday. Shobha Chaudhary was a resident of Arnia village. She had gone to have her meal on the terrace of the Academy. During this, Gathwadi resident Meena went upstairs & attacked.

Dharampal Yadav, director of Eklavya Academy, said that Shobha was pursuing Foundation Course in the academy and the accused was a frequent visitor to the library for study.

Ashok Beniwal, the computer operator in the academy, said that on Saturday, Shobha did not attend the classes.
