A lot needs to be done, says Nat’l Commission for STs
Jaipur: The team of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes under the leadership of National President Harsh Chauhan visited the state for three days. They met Chief Secretary Usha Sharma and other officers on Thursday and reviewed the work being done for Scheduled Tribes. They took feedback about various public schemes and works being run by the state govt for the STs in the tribal area of South Rajasthan.
Chauhan said that there is still a lot of work to be done in the districts belonging to the tribal areas. He said, “By keeping the SC & ST together, the impact of the schemes is less on the ST class. Both the Central and state govts are responsible for this. The upliftment of the ST class, which was to happen post independence has not happened yet.”
