Administration yet to reach all affected people of Silchar: CM

Guwahati: After all, after the criticism, the CM of Assam, who came out in the field to see the flood relief work, is on the target of the Opposition these days.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took stock of the flood relief work in some more districts including Silchar, along with the team of officials, reached Ground Zero to meet the people trapped in the flood. Biswa assured all possible help to the people of the flood-affected areas. He said instructions have been issued to agencies involved in the relief and rescue operations to maximise their reach and ensure help for all affected population at the earliest. Sarma waded through the flood waters on foot at places and sailed in a NDRF rubber boat in some other areas, as he interacted with the local populace to get a first-hand understanding of their situation. Cabinet Min Parimal Suklabaidya, Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy, several MLAs and officials of local civil and police administration accompanied the CM during the visit.
