As promised, Supriya Sule raises border issue in Lok Sabha!

New Delhi: The Winter Session of Parliament has started from Wednesday and as NCP leaders had warned that they will raise the border row with Karnataka in the Lok Sabha, NCP leader Supriya Sule followed on the warning and received support from NCP and other party leaders in targetting the BJP government as an uproar engulfed the house. Sule attacked the ruling BJP over this issue and putting forward her party’s stand in this regard, she also demanded Amit Shah to clarify his position in this matter. “From last 10 days a new question has arisen in Maharashtra. Chief Minister of Karnataka state is making random remarks. People of Maharashtra were going to Karnataka border, but they were beaten. A conspiracy has been hatched against Maharashtra over the past ten days . BJP is in power in both the states. Howeve r Karnataka CM speaks against Maharashtra. This will not work, this country is one,” Sule said.

Meanwhile, after Supriya Sule attacked the government, other opposition MPs from Maharashtra also started supporting her and raised slogans saying that they condemn this stand and behavior of Karnataka government. Later, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla intervened and appealed everyone to maintain calm as a fight broke out between the MPs of the ruling party and the opposition over the issue. Also rejecting Supriya Sule’s demand, he said, ‘What will the central government do on the issue of two states? This is Parliament. This (manner) will not work”, he said. Interestingly, on the one hand, Supriya Sule and other MPs are getting aggressive, while, on the other hand, BJP MP from Karnataka’s Haveri constituency Shivkumar Udasi has targeted the leaders of opposition parties in Maharashtra over the issue. “Opposition leaders in Maharashtra always behave like this. They have a lingo cultural syndrome. When they are out of power, they behave like this”, he replied to Supriya Sule and other opposition MPs.
