BD KALLA INTRODUCES RAJ GST BILL, PASSED WITH VOICE VOTE

Jaipur: The Rajasthan legislative assembly on Thursday passed the Rajasthan Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2022 by voice vote. Education Minister BD Kalla introduced the bill in the house on behalf of the minister in charge. After a discussion on the bill, Kalla said that many facilities are being given to the dealers in the bill, which will also increase the revenue of the state government. He said that Input Credit Tax has been reformed in Bill. “Interest will now be payable after using the credit tax on incorrect claim of input credit tax by dealer. Also, the system of issuing credit notes has been included. A provision has also been included that the registration will not be cancelled if the return is not filed for six months. Besides, corrections have also been made in the returns of GSTR - 1, 3 and 8. This will prevent discrepancies,” he said.

The Minister-inCharge told the House that due to efficient financial management of CM Gehlot, an increase has been registered in the tax collection in the state. In the base year of GST (2017-18), a tax collection of 12 thousand 137 crore was made, which reached 27 thousand 501 crore in 2021-22. He said that a 32.5% increase has also been registered in the GST collection as compared to last year, which is more than the neighbouring states. Kalla said that when the GST was implemented in 2017, the Centre had given an assurance of 14% increase in the income and if this increase did not happen. But the assurance was not fulfilled by the Centre, added Kalla.
