CHINA BORDER CLASH ISSUE ECHOES IN PARL

New Delhi: The ruckus continued during the Winter Session of Parliament on Wednesday with the Opposition seeking to corner the ruling BJP-led government over a host of issues including border issues with China, unemployment and the economy. As many as 17 Oppn parties staged a walkout from the Rajya Sabha accusing the government of not holding a discussion over Dec 9 clashes along the LAC between Indian & Chinese forces at Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. The Congress, RJD, AAP, MDMK, Communist Party of India (Marxist), CPI, JD (U), DMK, TMC, and TDM were among the 17 parties that walked out from the House during ‘Zero Hour’.

Replying to a written question in the Lok Sabha Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said that ISRO has taken initiatives for feasibility studies on missions to Venus. “Union Minister of State Science & Technology; Earth Sciences; Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh on Wednesday informed that ISRO has taken initiatives for feasibility studies on missions to Venus as well as Aeronomy studies,” read an official statement by the Union Department of Space. The term " a e r o n o m y, " coined and introduced about 60 years ago, refers to the scientific study of the upper atmospheric regions of the Earth and other solar system bodies. It covers the chemistry, dynamics and energy balance of both neutral and charged particles. “Both these missions are being conceptualized and the scientific scopes are being deliberated nationally with participation of science community,” said Singh. Earlier on Tuesday, Union Agricultural minister Narendra Singh Tomar and MoS Dr Jitendra Singh formally released the data products and services of RISAT-1A satellite for the user community, as per an official press release.
