CM Gehlot to flag-off fame tour on October 8

Jaipur: After a long wait of almost three years, the world famous royal luxury train ‘Palace on Wheels’ is ready to chug again. The refurbishment work of the train has been done at a cost of about Rs 1.25 crore and an agreement will be signed with the Railways on October 4 for its re-operation. The ‘Palace on Wheels’ will have a Fame Tour on October 8, which will be flagged off by CM Gehlot. A small package has been made for the Fame Tour, which will start from Jaipur to Ranthambore, Chittor, Udaipur, Bundi, Ajmer and culminate in Jaipur. In this tour, some of the investors coming to the Rajasthan Investment Summit like travel agents, tour operators, media promoters and tourism minister Vishvendra Singh, Tourism Corporation President Dharmendra Rathore, Tourism Corporation’s Managing Director VP Singh, Executive Director Rakesh Kumar Yogi, Executive Director Works Madhav Sharma would also participate. The first official tour of Palace on Wheels will start from Safdarjung Station in New Delhi on October 12. So far, 38 cabins have been booked. Chief Minister Gehlot will flag off the royal train from New Delhi on October 12. During this, Vishvendra Singh, Dharmendra Rathore, Union Railway Minister, Tourism Minister and Railway Board officials will also be present. After this, the second tour will start from October 19. A total of nine cabins have been booked for this. However, for the tour starting on October 26, which happens to be on Bhai Dooj, 47 cabins have been booked. In such a situation, the tourism corporation is trying to adjust the booking of Oct 26 to Oct 19 so that the Diwali tour is spectacular. The PoW had stopped ops in 2019 due to the pandemic. But with the efforts of Dharmendra Rathore will start again.
