CM Gehlot’s OPS scheme delivers well in Himachal Pradesh
Shimla: CM Ashok Gehlot’s ‘master stroke’ of including Old Pension Scheme in the manifesto in Himachal Pradesh has delivered well for the party. The issue has been close to the heart of more than 3 lakh government employees and OPS had become the biggest issue in Himachal assembly elections. Priyanka Gandhi leading the election campaign also promised the OPS in every rally. CM Gehlot also repeated it in his rallies and media briefings in the Hill state. The Bharatiya Janata Party could not find a counter to this promise of the Congress and lost the state. Another reason for BJP’s loss there has been anti-incumbency against the ministers. Congress President Pratibha Singh said the people of Himachal respect late Virbhadra Singh a lot and victory is a true tribute to him.
