CONFISCATE ILLEGAL MINING MACHINERY, ORDERS CS USHA

Jaipur: CS Usha Sharma, during a review meeting regarding the actions taken in the dists to check illegal mining, at Secretariat here on Friday, said Mines Department, police, & Collectors should work together to take strict action against mining mafia. She said machinery used in illegal mining should also be confiscated to ensure a ban. She directed officials to ensure communal & social harmony in all dists in view of festivals & various pilgrimages in coming days.

Additional CS, Mines Dept, Subodh Agarwal said three depts would work jointly against illegal mining. Additional CS, Home Dept Abhay Kumar, DGP ML Lather, Additional DGP Crime Branch Ravi Prakash Meharda, Additional DGP Administration & Law & Order Hawa Singh Ghumaria were present in meeting.

Mines Department has auctioned state’s first Manganese block at Kala Khunta of Banswara through MSTC. The bid for this block of 6.30 sqkm was 12.11% of reserve price. Syed Akhtar Ali, a firm of Ratlam in MP, bought this. Mines Department has auctioned a total of 13 blocks of Major Minerals in state in last 3 years. With this, dept will get revenue of more than Rs 3 lakh crore in next 50 years. In this block, Mines Department had got 5 bore holes of 297 meters in which 6.552 million tonnes of manganese reserves have been detected. With auction of blocks of p re c i o u s minerals like Iron Ore, Copper, Gold and Manganese, Raj has also become one of the leading states in country where precious minerals will be mined and produced, said Dr. Subodh Agarwal, ACS Mines.
