Consumers to get 100 units free electricity from June 1
Jaipur: People of Rajasthan will get the benefit of 100 units of free electricity from June 1. In keeping with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s budget announcement, companies have completed all preparations for this along with changes in billing software.
Free electricity will be available even on more than one electricity connection. Principal Energy Secretary Bhaskar A Sawant in a special conversation with First India said that if a consumer has more than one electricity connection, he will get the benefit according to the number of members registered in the Jan Aadhaar card. This implies that if there are three members in a family, then one can get benefit on three connections. Sawant also gave information about outstanding and defective metres.
Decisions regarding free and subsidized electricity will be taken at the level of the finance department. Consumers consuming 90 to 100 units will be closely monitored. Sawant said that all preparations have been completed.
