Fadnavis meets Bhagwat

Nagpur: Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis called upon the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday and is believed to have bounced off three names as the probables being considered for the post of BJP’s Maharashtra President.

Currently, Chandrakant Dada Patil is the state president and is likely to be moved out of the organisational role for a cabinet berth in the Maharashtra government. Current general secretary Srikant Bharti’s name was among the three probables discussed by Fadnavis with Bhagawat during his meeting in Nagpur. Other posts, that were always the prerogative of the RSS till before 2014, like organisational secretary were also discussed. Bhagwat is believed to have positively supported the process being taken forward by Fadnavis and asked him to go ahead without making any preferences known.
