For service, Commissioner Phansalkar FOREGOES DAUGHTER’S WEDDING!

Mumbai: For some officials, their service and duty means much more to them than even their personal commitment. And when a time comes to choose between family and duty, such ‘leaders’, without hesitation, choose to serve rather than take a backseat and enjoy their time with family. This has been exemplified by none other than Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, who, inspite of his daughter getting married on the day of the Maha-morcha in Mumbai, chose to not take a holiday but to be on ‘ground zero’ and handle the law and order personally, so that no untoward incident happens. Right from early morning Phansalkar monitored the developments till the culmination of the event, foregoing his duty as a father and the once in a lifetime event of his daughter’s marriage.
