If Shekhawat has guts, he should file libel case: Joshi

Jaipur: PHED Minister Mahesh Joshi during a public hearing at PCC on Tuesday hit back at Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s statement regarding defamation of Congress leaders over Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) issue. Joshi said, “If Shekhawat has guts, he should file a defamation case against us. We are ready for it”.

Joshi said that they are not afraid of his threats because they are with the truth and Shekhawat is a liar. During an interaction with the media, Joshi said that despite being the Minister of Jal Shakti, Shekhawat could not bring any plan for Rajasthan. “Nothing could be a bigger misfortune than this. The ERCP was done during the time of the BJP govt and its DPR was prepared in 2017,” he said, adding that the Central govt and Shekhawat are not cooperating.

Joshi said that the BJP and the Union ministers are not cooperating because in the assembly elections, the BJP lost in East Rajasthan. “Now, these people are taking revenge. We will give a befitting reply to them. Shekhawat had given a statement that if the PM had said a word about the project, he would retire from politics. We have sent a video, in which the PM is talking about declaring the project as a national one but Shekhawat does not stand by his statement,” Joshi said.
