MVA SEEKS TO DEFER INEVITABLE COLLAPSE OF MAHA GOVT

Mumbai: The end may be near for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government but it’s not coming this week, despite Chief Minister Uddav Thackeray having lost the faith of a majority of his party MLAs, led by urban development minister Eknath Shinde, following the vertical split within the Shiv Sena. “The government will not collapse within this week,” a Sena leader told First India on Wednesday. Later in the evening, CM Thackeray also indicated as much when he said that Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari had asked him to personally hand over any communication in the wake of the current crisis. Given that both have contracted COVID-19, such a meeting is unlikely in the immediate future.
