OG Dream Girl gang Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee and Manjot Singh to be a part of the sequel

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Dream Girl was a wonder that no one saw coming. It came and conquered the hearts of the audience and became a sleeper hit of 2019. The filmmakers are now prepping for the sequel of the film which stars Ayushmann Khurrana opposite Ananya Panday. While the female lead of the film may have changed, it will still be directed by Raj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ektaa Kapoor. Now it has been revealed that the original gang of Dream Girl will also be retained for the sequel!

A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee and Manjot Singh, who played a key role in Dream Girl, are on board the sequel too. Much like the first part, their character will be loaded with humour and bring in the laughs through the narrative.”

Stating how well the script of the second film is, the source added, “Dream Girl is a genuinely liked film and Ayushmann’s biggest grosser to date. The team is well aware of the responsibilities and has got it all right on the script front. It is being shot at present and isn’t really a sequel that’s made for the sake of it.” While the story is fresh, the details of the plot have been kept under wraps for now.

Further adding that the shoot is going on at a studio in Mumbai at a brisk pace, the source said, “The team is shooting a marathon schedule in Mumbai at the moment. They have recreated parts of Mathura and Agra at the studio. It’s all grand and colourful setup.”

The film will be on the big screens in the mid of 2023.
