Over 4K accounts created in 10 days in Jaipur rural

Chomu: As the Sukanya Samridhi Mahotsav is being celebrated across the country by the Indian Postal Department, more than 4,000 Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts have been opened in Jaipur rural area in 10 days. Along with this, the Chomu subdivision has topped in Jaipur Rural Division.

Jaipur Rural Postal Superintendent Mohan Singh Meena informed that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sukanya Samridhi Mahotsav is being celebrated by the Department of Posts from 16 September to 15 October. Under this, people are being made aware of Sukanya Samridhi Yojana by organising camps in different villages and towns by postal workers through audio messages, contacting Anganwadi centres, public representatives, Bhamashahs and other modes of communication.

On this occasion, CI Purushottam Garg, IPO Sunil Meena, Postmaster Kailash Chand, Subhash Chandra Sharma, Kaluram Choudhary etc. were present. Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is being run by the Central Government in order to secure the future of girl child in the country. Another aim of the scheme is to prevent child marriage. The Govt has changed the age for girls operating the Sukanya account from 10 years to 18 years.
