‘POLITICAL RESURRECTION’ BANKS ON BHEEM VOTERS’ ‘AASHIRWAAD’!

Mumbai: With new challenges befalling the opposition parties in the state, newer alliances are being forged to address these challenges. In this connection, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Chief and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi President Prakash Ambedkar held a secret meeting in Mumbai on Monday. Interestingly, a high level of secrecy was attempted in organizing this meeting, however, word did spread about it in the political circles.

The meeting between Thackeray and Ambedkar was earlier to be held at the Four Seasons in Worli, Mumbai, but suddenly the meeting was canceled and held at the Hyatt Hotel in Santacruz. It should be noted that Uddhav Thackeray and Prakash Ambedkar had come together on the stage in front of the people in a program just a few days ago and at that time also, the talk of MVA uniting with Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi had generated immense ‘interest’ in the political circles of the state.

Word is that Prakash Ambedkar is ready for alliance with Shiv Sena. But whether Ambedkar is ready for alliance with UPA or not, that aspect was necessary to discuss. Not only this, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Vanchit Aghadi chief Prakash Ambedkar do not see eye to eye with each other. Political experts know, Shiv Sena had to keep this meeting confidential because it was necessary to convince Prakash Ambedkar that MVA, Ambedkar will have to obey Sharad Pawar’s words and his gestures. Moreover, it was necessary for Uddhav Thackeray to know that Ambedkar would walk together in MVA and Prakash Ambedkar is still not fully agreed on this issue.

After the split in Shiv Sena, the biggest challenge for Uddhav Thackeray is that the politics of Maharashtra needs to be shown that Thackeray has good leadership abilities and that although Uddhav may have suffered a political loss, but he still has a good understanding of politics. Although Thackeray knows that if his meeting with Ambedkar fails, this will be another major loss for him, politically, after the split of Shiv Sena, and hence an attempt was made to maintain secrecy. Notably, Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut and party secretary Milind Narvekar were also present in the meeting along with Uddhav Thackeray and Prakash Bedkar.
