RK Vishwakarma is new UP DGP

Lucknow: IPS Dr Rajkumar Vishwakarma has been appointed as the new Acting DGP of the UP Police. Vishwakarma has been given new responsibility after the retirement of Acting DGP Dr Devendra Singh Chauhan on March 31. Meanwhile, the Yogi govt has transferred 6 senior IPS officers.

Dr Vishwakarma of 1988 batch will retire after 2 months on May 2023. He was currently holding the responsibility of Chairman/DG UP Police Recruitment Board and Promotion Board UP. Besides, he has been given the additional charge of acting DGP.

Along with this, IPS Prashant Kumar ADG Law & Order has been given the charge of Special DG Law & Order as well as Special DG Crime and Economic Offenses Organisation. IPS Vijay Kumar has been given the additional charge of Director Vigilance along with DG CBCIG and IPS Anand Kumar DG Prison Administration and Reforms Department has been made handed the cooperative cell.

Meanwhile, IPS SN Sabat has been made DG Prison Administration & Reforms Department from DG UP Power Corporation and IPS Manmohan Kumar Bashal has been made Special DG UP Power Corporation from ADG Crime.
