Shahid Kapoor on marriage: It is the best thing that happened in my life

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Shahid Kapoor married his lovely wife, Mira Rajput in a cosy and beautiful wedding which gladly shocked all his fans. The marriage not only gave Bollywood one of its most gorgeous and cutest couple but also showed Shahid transform from the dashing Casanova to this homely man who everyone adores today. The actor recently made his seventh appearance on the Koffee couch with his Kabir Singh co-star, Kiara Advani. Shahid not only shared never-talked-about before revelations of his marriage but shared how Mira validated his spiritual and homely side, bringing stability into his life.

“I have two very distinct sides to myself. One is obviously what people see me as being an actor from the fraternity and the glitz and the glamour. And then I also have a very homely and spiritual side of myself. I have a deep faith and I am a vegetarian. I don’t drink. I have all those other things. So, I always found it difficult to come across somebody who would be able to understand both sides of me. And I really struggled with that. And I was 34 and I was kind of ready to settle down. Because I had been living on my own for 10 years. Just at the time, through family and friends, everything came up. We met and it is the best thing that happened in my life,” the Haider actor revealed.

He added, “I feel she brings so much into my world; she balances me out. She makes me feel very normal.”

Talking about Mira’s career as an influencer and how much Shahid has done to support her, the actor revealed that as he is not a very “in your face” kind of person, he does not know how much she thinks he helped. “When we got married, I was 34 and she was 20, so I had to approach it very differently. She needed to be cared for with kid gloves because she had left everything in her life and come to Bombay. I was very established in my space and film in general and this world can be very intimidating and judgmental. Sometimes I felt I know too much so I can tell her what to do and how to be. But I did it from a place of protection. This is because I had been in that place myself. I was this kid from Lokhandwala, who at 21, did well and didn't know how to be.”
