UNESCO should declare Jodhpur a heritage city: Gehlot

Jodhpur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday said that Jodhpur is an important place from the point of view of tourism and UNESCO should declare it a heritage city. He said that the experience gained by him while serving the people in Jodhpur is being useful in serving the people of entire Rajasthan now.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating 2.3 kilometer long Rao Jodha Marg from Ghoda Ghati to Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur built at a cost of Rs 10.90 crore.

In the programme, former MP Gaj Singh (II) thanked the CM for the construction of Rao Jodha Marg.
Meanwhile, speaking to the reporters at the airport, Gehlot said, “Through the Ujjwala scheme, we are giving gas cylinders to about 80 lakh families for ₹500 and this scheme has been implemented from April 1, but the central government did not cooperate with us in this. If we would have got the data of Ujjwala Yojana families from the Centre, then it would have been easy for us to do direct bank transfer. The Centre did not cooperate, so we have collected data through DSO and gas agency and till now data of 10 lakh families has arrived,” he said.

Gehlot said that this time the Congress government is repeating in the state and there should be no surprise if the families associated with the BJP rise above the party and vote in favour of Congress.
