UP bypoll results to also have impact

Lucknow: Results of the bypolls in Rampur and Azamgarh will also have a slight impact on the vote strength of the parties in the presidential polls. There are 403 assembly members in UP, while 80 MPs and 31 Rajya Sabha members are elected from here.

The value of the vote of an MP is 700, so the total value of the votes of Lok Sabha members in UP, with 80 parliamentary seats, is 56,000. On the basis of the results of Azamgarh and Rampur, the exact calculation of the vote strength of the MPs of the parties will be possible. However, if BJP wins both seats, then the count of its MPs will reach 66-(64 BJP, 2 Apna Dal (S)).
In that case, the BJP alliance will have 46,200 votes. If SP wins both seats, then along with its previous three MPs, it will have two more MPs together, and will have 3,500 votes, and if it wins only one seat its votes will be 2,800. Congress with only one MP has 700 votes; this count will remain the same as it is not contesting. BSP with 10 MPs has 7,000 votes. If it wins Azamgarh, its strength will increase to 7,700. In any case, the BJP alliance in UP with over 1.19L votes has the potential to play a decisive role in the presidential election.
