Vikram Gokhale’s family refutes rumours about his death; reveal he is on ventilator

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Veteran actor, Vikram Gokhale is a celebrated actor with some noteworthy work to his name. The octogenarian has been hospitalised for the past 15 days, as was confirmed by his family. A statement by his family said that the actor had been doing well for the past few days but his health deteriorated the day before yesterday. However, a shocking rumour had the entire entertainment industry mourning yesterday night. News reports stated that Gokhale, 82, passed away due to his prolonged illness. But the air was cleared by his family, who revealed that the actor is alive.

News agency ANI confirmed that the actor is alive. They stated, “Veteran Actor Vikram Gokhale is still critical and on life support. He has not passed away yet. Keep praying for him–confirms Vikram Gokhale's daughter.”

Gokhale’s wife, Vrushali Gokhale in a statement said, “He slipped into a coma yesterday afternoon and post that, he has not responded to touch. He is on a ventilator. Doctors will decide tomorrow morning what to do, depending on whether he's improving, sinking, or still not responding.” Vikram Gokhale has been admitted to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune. Vrushali in her statement added, “He improved a bit but slipped again. He has had a host of issues, like in the heart and kidneys. At the moment, he has had a multi-organ failure.”

Press Trust of India had reported earlier on Wednesday that the actor has been admitted to the hospital due to health complications.

Vikram Gokhale has an array of remarkable works in Hindi and Marathi films, television and theatre plays including Natsamrat, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, etc.
