What regional parties are doing to be relevant?

New Delhi: There seems to be a big change in the politics of the country. So far, the regional parties, which have worked in an arbitrary manner, are improving their functioning. Regarding the rest of the regional parties, there was a belief that there is no constitution for them, which they could follow. There was also a belief that they work arbitrarily, members of the same family get everything, there domination of one caste along with misuse of power, etc. But now, it is changing.

One by one, the three big regional parties have framed their own code of conduct and asked the party leaders to follow them. The Shiromani Akali Dal, which has run the government several times in Punjab, has framed a code of conduct for its party. The party’s working president Sukhbir Badal has released the said code of conduct. The most surprising thing in this is that SAD has adopted the rule of one ticket in a family. The question is, will the Badal family be an exception to this? At present both Sukhbir and his wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal are MPs of Lok Sabha.

First of all, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made a code of conduct for the leaders of her party. She asked the ministers to stay away from vehicles with red beacons and hooters. Ministers and MLAs were also asked to maintain a low profile and if they go to the districts, they should stay in the circuit house. Ministers have been instructed that if any file comes to them, they should sign it only after reading it carefully.

After the formation of the new government in Bihar, RJD leader and Deputy Chief Minister of the state Tejashwi Yadav has also formulated a code of conduct for his party.
