2400 million tonnes of precious mineral deposits marked: ACS

Jaipur: Additional Chief Secretary Mines, Petroleum and PHED Dr Subodh Agarwal on Tuesday said that more than 2400 million tonnes of mineral deposits have been marked and assessed by the department in 4,615 hectare area in the land of 6 cities including Jaipur, Jodhpur and Urban Development Trust. He said that while making efforts at the highest level for valid mining permission in these areas, efforts are being made to get necessary permission from the Urban Development Department. According to a rough estimate, the state government is likely to get revenue of about Rs. 6,800 crore from legal mining in these reserves. Agarwal was reviewing the points related to mining of minerals, diversion of forest land and gravel in the urban area.
