8K sanitation workers’ strike from today

Jaipur: Nearly 8,000 employees of both the municipal corporations of the city have announced to go on strike beginning from Wednesday. This strike has become a challenge for the Municipal Corporations, which are preparing for Swachh Survekshan-2023. The employees had been agitating for a long time over the recruitment of 4,500 sanitation workers and demanded priority be given to the employees engaged on muster roll before 2018 in recruitment.

The workers will go to the wards and after marking their attendance, they will demonstrate and chalk out a strategy for protest further. The administration, however, said that there is no pending demand of the sanitation workers related to the municipal corporation.
