Adopt innovation to maintain law and order: CM Gehlot

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot while addressing the meeting of IGs of Police & District SPs via VC at CMR said, “Special campaign against organised crimes should be continued aggressively in Raj. Strict action should be taken against those who follow and support gangsters and criminals on social media and provide shelter and financial assistance,” Gehlot said and instructed to take special vigilance against active gangs operating through criminal elements in the jail.

“Strict action should also be implemented in case of laxity. Whereas, cops who excel in work, need to be rewarded,: the CM said. “The role of District SPs is crucial in changing mass perception about the functioning of police. SP should discharge the role with positivity in strengthening the law and order situation,” he said.

Gehlot said that innovation should be adopted to maintain peace and law and order in the state and social media should also be used to stop the spread of misleading information. “The atmosphere of communalism, tension and violence has increased across the nation. So the future for the police will be more challenging. The person involved in such incidents may belong to any caste, strict action should be taken,” he said, adding that SP should inspect police stations regularly.

DGP Umesh Mishra said, “People are getting justice via mandatory FIR initiative. Prompt action taken against paper leak mafia has also been appreciated by the public.”
