CM Gehlot approves camel conservation scheme; Min Kataria launches web app

Jaipur: Amidst the dwindling number of camels, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the Camel Conservation Scheme in Rajasthan. Animal Husbandry Minister Lalchand Kataria inaugurated the integrated web application for the scheme.

With this, camel herders will be able to apply online for taking benefits under the camel conservation scheme. Provisions for the registration of camel rearers, and tagging of camels have also been made in the application. A grant of up to Rs 10,000 each will be given to camel herders by the state government.

The grant will be given on the birth of a camel’s calf i.e. Todi. The calf should be of two months or older. A grant of Rs 5,000 will be given when the Todi is 3 months old. After this, after the completion of 1 year of Todi, another 5 thousand rupees will be given.
