Congress demands action against Adani Group
Jaipur: State Congress staged a sit-in protest in Jaipur against LIC and SBI investments in Adani Group. Protests were held outside the LIC and SBI offices in all the districts, including the capital Jaipur on behalf of the state Congress. They have demanded a fair investigation into the matter. Jaipur City Congress staged a dharna outside the LIC office at Ambedkar Circle in Jaipur. Hundreds of Congress workers and leaders participated in the dharna.
A protest was held for about two hours under the leadership of cabinet minister and outgoing president of Jaipur City Congress Pratap Singh Khachariyawas. Water Supply Minister Mahesh Joshi, MLA Amin Kagzi, Rafiq Khan, former Mayor Jyoti Khandelwal, Jaipur Heritage Mayor Munesh Gurjar, Social Welfare Board Chairman Archana Sharma, Congress leaders Lalit Toonwal, Jaswant Gurjar, Ramsingh Kaswa, Pushpendra Bhardwaj, Sitaram Agarwal and many other leaders were present. Khachariyawas and Joshi said that a foreign company exposed corruption and instead of taking action against the Adani group, the Central government was trying to save them and is running away from discussing the matter in Parliament.
Khachariyawas said during the demonstration that trust was important and a party’s government is formed only when its workers come together.
Joshi condemned RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for stoking controversy with his statement. He said, “There are many great men who sacrificed their lives and were pundits. They gave direction to society. I find Bhagwatji’s statement ridiculous.”
