Congress fields Anil Sharma from Sardarshahar

Jaipur: The ruling Congress in Rajasthan has fielded Anil Sharma as its candidate for Sardarshahar bypoll. Sharma is the son of ex-MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma. This seat has been lying vacant since BL Sharma’s demise. The Congress Central Election Committee announced Sharma’s name on Wednesday. He will file nomination papers today. Anil Sharma is the Chairman of Rajasthan State Economic Backward Classes Board & is MoS in the Gehlot government. He is also a PCC member for a long time. Anil Sharma became the Chairman of the Municipality in 1980. He was also the President of Sardarshahar Block from 2000 to 2018. He also held various posts in party. Veteran Cong MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma was the MLA from Sardarshahar for 6 times. He won as Congress candidate 4 times & became MLA on Lok Dal, Janata Dal tickets.
